1. Turmeric/Ginger

This natural herb contains an organic compound called Curcumin. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory. It is also known to possess numerous therapeutic properties which include the ability to inhabit the inflammatory immune system of the body. Combining turmeric with ginger as a tea is the best way to take this natural anti-inflammatory.

Turmeric and Ginger Tea: Grind half a teaspoon of each ingredient. Add to 2 cups of boiling water, reduce the heat to simmer for 10-15 minutes. Once the tea is done, strain the herbs and sweeten with sugar or honey. This concoction is a serving for two. For chronic arthritic pain, it is recommended to take one cup of tea daily.

2. Epsom Salt (Magnesium)

This natural kitchen spice is an essential mineral that helps the body to perform different functions. It promotes regeneration and healing of joint tissues and bones. You can take magnesium supplements to help heal painful joints. Upping your body’s magnesium levels relaxes your bones and joints.

Recommendation: Take an Epsom Salt Bath to relax yourself. By doing this, magnesium is absorbed faster by your body. A warm bath should also temporarily relieve you from aches and make your muscles warm up and be more flexible.

3. Olive Oil

Consume 2 tablespoons of olive oil as part of your arthritis diet. This healing oil has an organic compound called oleocanthal which inhibits the activities of 2 main inflammatory enzymes in our bodies. You can add honey to taste. If you are not a fan of drinking teas, you might want to use it as an added leaf to your salad. It is also a powerful laxative so do not drink too much.

5. Blackstrap Molasses

A tablespoon of these molasses can go a long way in permanently healing joint pain. It has essential minerals like calcium, potassium and magnesium. A daily dose is recommended for strengthening the bones and repairing tissues. Heat 1 cup until warm. Do not boil. Stir in a tablespoon of molasses and take once a day.

6. Willow Bark

It is one of the oldest known remedies for pain. Scientists were able to discover that it contains Salicin compound which is responsible for the creation of acetyl salicylic acid that acts as an aspirin. It can be taken in capsule form or brewed as a tea. For best results, drink twice daily as part of your arthritis diet.

7. Hot Pepper Cream

It can be bought in most grocery stores and pharmacies. It overloads the body’s pain sensors and relieves you of pain. Avoid contact with sensitive areas as it may cause irritation.

8. Eucalyptus Oil

This is another popular herbal pain reliever and natural arthritis remedy used in a lot of modern products. There are eucalyptus ointments available in the market. You can also make your own eucalyptus topical agent. The scent is also easy to take and good for headache.

9. Juniper Berry

A research conducted in 2009 published a study that the organic compound terpinen-4-ol found in berries reduce arthritis pain and inflammation. You can brew juniper tea by bringing to boil 1 cup of fresh water with 1 tablespoon of dried juniper berries. Drink 2 cups daily as part of your diet for arthritis pain. It should not be taken if you are pregnant or a nursing mom.

10. Bosweilla

This is an excellent anti-inflammatory and pain reliever that inhibits the body’s response that causes swelling. It helps reduce existing joint pain and inflammation. These can be hard to find as they are available in herb stores mostly.

11. Grape Juice

This helps lubricate and restore the elasticity of damaged synovial membranes of our joints. This allows you to move without pain. Mix 1 tablespoon of this liquid to your drink twice daily. Results may take up to 2 weeks before it is felt as it acts not just as a temporary pain reliever but help restore joint health.

12. Liquorice

It has a primary organic compound which is Glycyrrhizin that gives the herb sweetness but at the same time act as an anti-inflammatory. It inhibits the activity of the inflammatory enzymes in the body.
